Four years ago, CardOpz started with a simple question: why is casino management software still stuck in the 90s? Legacy systems were expensive, slow to update, and built for a world before smartphones and cloud computing.
We set out to build something different—a modern platform designed from the ground up for how card rooms actually operate today, whether you're a California cardroom or a social club in another state. This is the story of how CardOpz evolved from a basic floor management tool to a comprehensive casino management platform.
CardOpz now serves card rooms across multiple states with 10 core modules, a mobile PWA for players, and integrations with RFID, printers, and ID scanners. But it didn't start that way.
The Evolution
We started where the pain was worst: floor operations. Dealers tracking hands on paper. Floor managers juggling waitlists on whiteboards. Tournament directors running events from spreadsheets.
The first version of CardOpz focused on getting the basics right:
The MVP worked, but we heard the same feedback over and over: "It's great, but I have to refresh to see changes." Real-time sync became the priority.
We rebuilt the architecture so that when a dealer busts a player, the tournament director sees it instantly. When a floor manager opens a new table, the waitlist updates automatically. No more refreshing, no more "let me check."
As we grew into larger venues, operators needed more powerful promotional tools and compliance features. Phase 3 significantly expanded our Promotions & Jackpots module and strengthened compliance capabilities across the platform.
We'd built a great back-of-house system. But players still had to call the room to check waitlists, show up to see tournament schedules, and ask staff about their points balance.
The CardOpz Mobile PWA changed that. Players get a branded app (no app store required) where they can see everything happening at your venue in real-time:

Loyalty Points Earning
Players will earn points automatically based on their activity. You configure the earning rates:

📅 Day 1 Flight Vouchers
Entry to specific Day 1 flights of multi-day events. Player picks their flight at redemption.
Non-Tournament Vouchers
Expanding cage redemption for merchandise, memberships, food credits, and other rewards—shows up in player profiles for easy validation.
Loyalty Tier Management
For rooms running tiered programs (Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum), you choose what happens at year-end:
